Since 1976, the National Women’s Political Caucus (NWPC) has convened a multi-partisan effort to assure that qualified women are appointed to posts at all levels and in each agency of the new administration, regardless of which party controls the White House.
The mission of the Coalition for Women’s Appointments is to help recruit, evaluate and recommend the appointment of qualified women to senior-level, policy-making, and multi-tier positions in the incoming Biden-Harris Administration with the goal of achieving gender parity.
The Coalition supports President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris and their administration’s commitment to 50% gender parity for women political appointees with a focus on diversity and inclusion of historically underrepresented groups including women of color, LGBTQ+, and those with disabilities.
Through the website Appoint Women and our step-by-step informational online guidebook Raise the BAR: Be Appointment Ready prospective candidates for political appointment can REVIEW all of the requirements, GATHER necessary documentation and receive tips and best practices on how to PREPARE a federal government appointment application.
After completing our process, prospective applicants can choose to submit a Biographical Form to the Coalition for Women’s Appointments Digital Registry for consideration through our expert subject matter task forces.
The Coalition is working with President Biden's staff and contacts in the Office of Personnel Management in our efforts to recommend highly qualified women across every industry who apply through our Appoint Women digital registry.
